Main Playlist Update 12/11/2018
This week our Main Playlist changes are on the B List and C List. To the B List, we've added Mahalia's 'One Night Only (Feat. Kojey Radical)', Bring Me The Horizon with 'Wonderful Life', and 'I Found You' by Calvin Harris feat. Benny Blanco. On the C List, we've added 'Freelance' by Toro y Moi.
As always, our New Music Playlist is bursting with the very best of underground music.
Dreamer Boy - Orange Girl
Hazy bedroom pop from Nashville, Dreamer Boy’s latest single ‘Orange Girl’ is easygoing and relaxed. Taken from their debut album out this Friday, ‘Orange Girl’ is the start of a new lo-fi experience.
Dusky Grey - One Night
Released in late September, alt-pop duo Dusky Grey’s ‘One Night’ combines powerhouse vocals and a passionate story. Of the single, the duo have said that “One Night is more of a conversation, the first verse is about taking a relationship for granted”. They support Emma Blackery on her upcoming tour.
Easy Life - Nightmares
Leicester five piece Easy Life return with their new woozy single ‘Nightmares’. Taking dreampop and upending it both literally and figuratively, ‘Nightmares’ is a fresh take on the hazy indie genre.
Poppy Ajudha - When You Watch Me
Featuring Kojey Radical, Livewire favourite Poppy Ajudha is ramping up her output with new single ‘When You Watch Me’. With her smooth vocals and relaxed instrumental, ‘When You Watch Me’ is gorgeously syrupy.
Nancy - French Cinnamon
An enigmatic unnamed project, the sweet dreampop of Nancy’s ‘French Cinnamon’ plays like a long-lost prom band’s offcuts. Doo-wop and bubblegum pop coalesce to make for an enjoyable listen.
Nilufer Yanya - Heavyweight Champion of the Year
A jazzy pop anthem, Nilufer Yanya once again proves she is one of the artists to watch with her new single ‘Heavyweight Champion of the Year’. The song is an emotional slow burner, with plucky guitars and dense vocals.
Noah Chenfield - Lucy
Taking inspiration from Arcade Fire and Foster the People, the indietronic ‘Lucy’ from NYC’s Noah Chenfeld is unapologetic. With a pop chorus and ‘8os inspired sound, it’s a song to be immersed in.
Slow Pulp - Steel Birds
Chicago-based Slow Pulp are sweet and heavy at the same time, and newest release ‘Steel Birds’ is no different. With triumphant and hook-filled rock n roll and clever lyrics, ‘Steel Birds’ is a hint of what is to come on EP2.
Sorry - Starstruck
London’s Sorry have been making waves for a while. Known for music a little bit left of centre, new single ‘Starstruck’ is wonky pop at its finest. So hard to define, their music is always changing.
TOUTS - Can’t Blame Me
Northern Irish band TOUTS are raucous and unashamedly punk. Defining themselves as rebelling against modern politicians, ‘Can’t Blame Me’ takes inspiration from Derry’s historical political atmosphere.
Unknown T - Homerton B
Described as the UK drill song of the year, new single ‘Homerton B’ by London’s Unknown T has bold melody and rhythm. ‘Homerton B’ is about gang violence, has already upset the Daily Mail, and is as forward thinking as they come.
