Main Playlist Update 27/11/17

This week's playlist has some new additions from Jason Derulo, and Rae Morris. And as always we have refreshed our new music playlist with 10 of the best new bands we've heard this week!

Basic Tape - Cool (ft. Huntar): Cool is the latest single from Basic Tape. With a great dance vibe and uplifting electronic piano backing the Parisian duo have certainly delivered a track that will get you grooving in all the right ways. Some real easy daytime listening.

CHILDCARE - Put Down Your Pen: ‘Put down your pen’ is the new single from London quartet CHILDCARE. An eclectic mix of pop, indie and easy listening this song is the laid back song you need in your day.

Insecure Men - Teenage Toy: Formed by Fat White Family’s Saul and his school friends Ben Romans-Hopcraft and Nathan Saoudi, Insecure Men create a relaxing sound far from the noises made in Fat White Family. ‘Teenage Toy’ is an easy listening leftfield pop anthem with psychedelic vocals.

Poppy Ajudha - Tepid Soul: Poppy’s vocals sound rather similar to the infamous Amy Winehouse in the way that it catches your attention from the off. This is a chilled easy listening track that just feels effortless. Learning into jazz at parts.

Saint Clair - Human Touch: In Emma Topolski’s latest single she serves up some soft, gentle vocals wrapped in a lolloping synthy melody while some drums beat in the background in a way that reminds you of the sound of bamboo or drainpipe drums. Human Touch is a slower burning track but by no means less of an anthem.

Spice Boys - I Don’t Get Around: The latest teaser before the quartet drop their new album Glade at the beginning of next year. Full to the brim with scratchy guitars, far-out vocals with an attitude to fit the rest of the track perfectly.

Sports Team - Stanton: This debut track is the result of Cambridge Alumni channeling their millennial depression and having a shout about London suburbia life. There is a lot going on in the track and can sound messy in parts as multiple singers sing at once but this just adds to the nature of the track.

Tangerine - Fever Dream: This is a very dreamy track with a slightly less dreamy message. The lyrics are an ode to all those vulnerable out there and captures the feeling of uneasily walking home in the dark. Despite this the Settle Alt-pop trio have delivered an exciting light hearted noise.

Thunder Jackson - Guilty Party: Thunder Jackson are a bold duo split between Oklahoma and Cardiff. Having met in the back of a taxi in California, the pair borrowed their name from a New York restaurant.‘Guilt Party’ is an impressive debut that tells the tale of our protagonist carelessly professing his love to someone at a party while drunk. Rather than apologise, he chooses to dance in the mess he has made for he is the guilty party. With more material ready to be released, Thunder Jackson are ones to watch out for.

White Room - Twisted Celebration: ‘A sneak peak off the psychedelic rock inspired five piece’s debut EP hailing from Brighton. With some quirky sounds, buzzing and knocks comes a delightful track that makes the most of chorus harmonies. It is certainly a twist but it’s one that you will be celebrating.
